1 Playa Karraspio, Lekeitio
Head towards the town of Lekeitio in Spain’s Basque Country, and you will encounter the long crescent-shaped beach of Lekeitio. By train, it is around an hour and twenty minutes from Bilbao. The beach is flanked by lush green hills and is a perfect place to spend a day or two.
2 Praia das Catedrais
For a different kind of beach experience head towards As Catedrais. Here the rock formations and buttresses appear like cathedrals, hence the name. It isn’t the kind of beach to laze and catch some sun, but it is a marvelous region to explore.
3 Playa de la Concha, San Sebastián
Linked by elegant buildings and sweeping the city’s bay, this beach is one for your to-do list. Features such as the castle that sits at the top of Monte Urgull have been cleverly integrated with natural cliffs. Come here and enjoy the golden sand and warm ocean.
4 Playa de la Magdalena, Santander
This beach is a very natural affair and thanks to the proximity to other beaches fairly quiet. It is excellent if you want a little bit of space or to play sports thanks to the dedicated sports areas.
5 Playa del Silencio, Asturias
For an adventure, why not hike to the ‘Beach of Silence’. This natural beach is just outside the village of Castañeras. To reach it you have to hike about a third of a mile. Thanks to the natural towering cliffs, it’s worth it.
6 Playa el Sardinero, Santander
Over half a mile long and featuring soft golden sand, this beach is Santander’s main beach. Great for nightlife and surfing, why not indulge your sporting side and reward yourself with a cool beer when finished.
7 Praia de Rodas, Islas Cies
UNESCO protected Cies is a small island of the Galicia coast. This beach has soft white sand and is considered to be one of the best beaches in Spain.
8 Playa de Oyambre, Comillas
Over a mile long, this beach offers you fine golden sand, rolling hills, and sand dunes. This is a great beach to spend the day, especially if you are a windsurfer as this part of Spain has excellent windsurfing conditions.
9 Playa América, Nigrán, Galicia
The C shaped golden sand beach is great for relaxing, and you have children they will love it. The views are amazing as you can see the Monteferro Forest and Stelae Islands on a good day.
10 Playa de Carnota, Galicia
This beach is over three miles long and interacts with the meadows and forest groves, and features beautiful white sand. It is a great beach and one to visit when in north Spain.
