How To Plan The Most Epic Road Trip

If you are in the process of planning your next vacation then how about a road trip? Everyone should take a road trip at least once in their life just to say they have done it. If you have always wanted to do it, now is your chance.

There are a lot of elements associated with a road trip, if you plan it all out then you shouldn’t have any hiccups along the way. Check out the article below to find out more about planning the most epic road trip.

Destinations

One of the first things you need to think about is where you are going to go on your road trip. There are some world famous road trips that you might want to tick off your bucket list, Route 66 and the Icelandic Ring Road for example. Typically a road trip on this scale will take around two to three weeks if you are stopping off regularly for breaks and sightseeing. If there is always somewhere you have wanted to go then now is your chance.

Traveling

How are you getting to these destinations? This one might seem obvious but many people like to fly to their destination and then hire a car to drive around in. If you live in the place you are exploring then it can be slightly easier, you can just jump in your car or RV and off you go. However, if there is more planning involved than that then here’s some pointers. Make sure that whatever vehicle you are using has been serviced and well maintained. The last thing you want is for your vehicle to break down on a deserted road. Another option, if you are planning on being away for some time, is to take a custom campervan with you. This has everything you need on board from kitchen supplies to shower facilities.

Sights To See

With any road trip there will be plenty of sights to see along the drive. If you do decide to do Route 66 then you have your pick of sights, from the Big Blue Whale in Oklahoma to the Cadillac Ranch in Texas. You will never be short of things to see or do on road trips, if you just want to drive and take it all in that way then you can do that as well. Remember, there is no right or wrong way to carry out a road trip. Just go where the wind takes you and see what you come across along the way.

Accommodation

Finally, if you are planning on being away for some time and your vehicle doesn’t have anywhere for you to sleep then you will need to sort out accommodation. This can get expensive so make sure you factor it into your budget when working out costs. There will be plenty of private homes, hotels, and motels that you can rent for a night or two to recuperate. Make sure you book these in advance as you don’t want to get there and find they have no rooms left.
